BASED IN POWYS, WALES, PENNY HALLAS IS AN ARTIST WORKING IN VARIOUS MEDIA, principally painting, drawing and printmaking. Her work, chiefly figurative, often intimately scaled, has many strands, but revolves around a fascination with internal states of being. Sometimes funny, sometimes disturbing, alive to the promptings of chance, fantasy and emotion, her art seeks to explore correspondences between the material world and the hidden crannies of the psyche.
